“Passport to professionalism in property management”

The IRPM was launched by the Association of Residential Managing Agents (ARMA) in early 2002 as a means of delivering a portable professional qualification in residential property management.

We are proud to announce that Grant & Wilson’s Property Managers achieved this qualification in May 2010, passing with flying colours.

One of our Property Managers, Scott Robertson has been asked to attend an IRPM presentation in London to accept an award as he achieved the highest pass mark in Scotland. 

This qualification will ensure that we are as always, providing our customers and clients with a knowledgeable and professional service.

Meet the Property Managers Team

Scott Robertson, Property Manager
Scott initially started with Grant & Wilson in 2006 as a Trainee Property Manager and through hard work and determination now manages his own portfolio in and around Glasgow. In 2001 Scott achieved a Management degree from Glasgow Caledonian University and has recently enrolled in a Building Surveying Course, which Management at Grant and Wilson Ltd are delighted to fund and assist Scott in his further education and career progression. Scott enjoys many aspects of his Property Management role from dealing with individual clients to neighbourhood associations, and maintenance contactors. Every day brings Scott new and challenging tasks.

Sharon Cosgrove, Property Manager
When leaving school Sharon’s first position within the Property Management Industry was as a junior debt recovery administrator, with her eagerness to learn Sharon completed various in - house training courses till she had learned enough to manage her own portfolio of property. Sharon has been with Grant & Wilson now for a couple of years and with her good communication and organization skills, Sharon manages a large portfolio of properties in and around Glasgow. Sharon is proud of what she has achieved and has proven that she can address any issues that can arise on a daily bases, however her thirst for knowledge is still there and every day she feels she is learning something new.

Andrew Maitland, Property Manager
Working with a large reputable conveyancing company in Glasgow gave Andrew an insight into what career path he wished to pursue. Andrew followed the path into Property Management. Andrew has been with Grant & Wilson for many years now and the majority of his properties are within Glasgow city centre, which he has taken time and pride in familiarize himself with both the properties and owner/occupiers. Andrew enjoys many aspects of the job, especially meeting new people and developing new working relationships, but mostly the challenges that being a Property Manager brings.

Carole Laird, Property Manager
Having worked in the property industry for many years and having knowledge and experience in various roles, from Estate Agent to a Support Administrator and a Trainee Property Manager, Carole, however enjoys her job as a Property Manager the most. Her strong administration skills and her exceptional attention to detail allow her to be prepared for what each day brings. Carole has a port folio of 75 properties in and around Glasgow, and enjoys the communication and interaction with her work colleagues, clients and contractors.

Catherine Alston, Property Manager
Catherine has held various roles within the Property Industry over the last 17 years; she has sold residential property at G.S.P.C, Leased Commercial & Residential properties and manages the largest portfolio of developments within Grant & Wilson. Catherine found having an H.N.C in Business Administration has given her the qualifications as strong foundations to manage her ever increasing portfolio. Catherine feels that her skills of being well organized and with forward planning, allows her to manage this challenging and rewarding role.

Alan MacLeod, Property Manager
Alan started his factoring career as a trainee Property Manager in 2005. He learnt the basics of the job and with in a short period of time was managing his own portfolio. Alan manages various properties spread over East and South Ayrshire and surrounding areas to Glasgow. Alan has embraced his role within Grant & Wilson and believes that open communication is the key to ensuring both owner/occupiers and management are kept abreast of the progress of each of his developments.

Grace Vallance, Property Manager
Grace started her career in Property as a Sales Executive for various builders in the west of Scotland. Grace progressed on to becoming a Field Sales Manager with Meridian Homes, managing their various developments in the West of Scotland. Grace manages a port folio of 50 developments in and around Glasgow, and with her knowledge and experience in customers service has been an asset to Grant & Wilson and our clients. Grace enjoys the challenges and variety that every day brings being a Property Manager.

    Marianne Peters, Property Manager - Office Supervisor

Marianne began her career in customer services while at Napier University, where she obtained an HND in Accounting & Finance. Since joining Grant and Wilson in January 2006, Marianne has fulfilled various. roles within the company such as administrator, letting assistant, and property assistant. Marianne was promoted into the Property Managers position in October 2008. Having gained a sound knowledge of the Edinburgh branch of Grant and Wilson, Marianne was the ideal choice for this position

 Fergus Walker, Property Manager

Fergus has many years experience in the Property Industry, he started his career as an office junior with a large reputable Chartered Surveyors. After 5 years he was approached by a Property Management / Chartered Surveyors company to become a Property Manager, managing various properties in and around the West of Scotland. Fergus manages a large port folio of properties in our Edinburgh office and with his vast knowledge and experience in property; Fergus is a great asset to our Edinburgh team and clients.
